Nominations for the 2024 Dan David Prize are\u00a0<strong>now open<\/strong>\u00a0and submissions will be accepted until\u00a0<strong>October 11, 2023.\u00a0<\/strong><br>Nominees can come from any field related to the study of the\u00a0<strong>human past<\/strong>, both\u00a0<strong>within academia and outside it<\/strong>.\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/dandavidprize.org\/our-winners\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>The list of previous winners can be found here.<\/strong><\/a><br>Nominations are open to researchers in disciplines such as\u00a0<strong>history, archaeology, art history, digital humanities and human palaeontology<\/strong>, as well as\u00a0<strong>independent scholars, public historians, museum curators and documentary filmmakers.<\/strong><br><strong>Anyone can nominate. Self-nominations will not be considered | Renominations from previous years are encouraged.<\/strong><br><br><strong>Nomination requirements:<\/strong>\u00a0<br>-Nominees must be engaged in outstanding and original work related to the study of the human past, employing\u00a0any <strong>chronological, geographical and methodological focus.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><br>-Nominees should exhibit strong potential for\u00a0<strong>future excellence<\/strong>, innovation and leadership that will help shape the study of the past for years to come.\u00a0<br>-Academic nominees must hold a PhD\u00a0and must have published<strong>\u00a0at least one major piece of work<\/strong>, such as a book\u00a0or a collection of articles related to a major project.\u00a0\u00a0<br>-Non-academic nominees are NOT required to hold a PhD, but must have completed\u00a0<strong>at least one major piece of work<\/strong>, such as a book, major publication, exhibition, documentary film or public humanities project, and should demonstrate an ongoing engagement with topics related to history and the study of the past.\u00a0<br>-Nominees should be\u00a0<strong>no more than 15 years post-PhD<\/strong>\u00a0(for academics) or\u00a0<strong>15 years after the release of their first major project<\/strong>\u00a0(for non-academics), although due allowance will be made\u00a0for career breaks (including e.g. parental and care leave or duties, health-related leave and career changes).\u00a0 <br><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/dandavidprize.org\/nominate\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>For more information and to nominate, <\/strong>click here<\/a><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Dan David Prize is the world\u2019s largest history prize, annually awarding\u00a09 prizes of $300,000 each\u00a0to\u00a0early and midcareer scholars and practitioners\u00a0in the historical disciplines, to acknowledge their outstanding achievements and support future work.
