Today, the organization encompasses a total of fifty-three countries.<\/p>\n<p>The ICHS includes two sorts of organizations. First of all, there are the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cish.org\/membres\/comites-nationaux.htm\"><strong>National Committees<\/strong><\/a> formed in each country from their individual centers for historical research. In addition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cish.org\/membres\/organismes-internationaux.htm\"><strong>International Commissions<\/strong><\/a> specializing in particular fields of history (some known as \u2018International Affiliated Organizations\u2019 and others as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cish.org\/membres\/commissions-internes.htm\"><strong>Internal Commissions<\/strong>)<\/a> have formed over the years.<\/p>\n<p>The major occupation of the ICHS is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cish.org\/EN\/congres\/index.htm\"><strong>Congress<\/strong><\/a>, held every five years.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee shall hold a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cish.org\/EN\/presentation\/assemblies.htm\"><strong>General Assembly<\/strong><\/a> at least every three years. Each Congress shall be immediately preceded and followed by a General Assembly.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cish.org\/EN\/presentation\/board.htm\"><strong>A Board<\/strong><\/a> is responsible for the functioning and co-ordination of ICHS activities.
